The November issue of Town & Country features the annual T&C Weddings guide which features three classic trends that are making a HUGE comeback. Check out the three trends that are bringing wedding styles back to classic elegance. Classic jewelry making a comeback: Pearls. This classic staple has made a resurgence and isn’t likely to disappear anytime soon. Pearls are being paired with diamonds in earrings, appearing as the center stone on rings, and with the comeback of the pearl comes the brooch. Coco Chanel was never seen without pearls, and Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn helped to solidify the look. Most recently, celebrities everywhere have pulled these back out of their jewelry boxes, from Kate Middleton and First Lady Michelle Obama, to Hollywood style icons Sarah Jessica Parker and Angelina Jolie. And a giant display of pearls that cannot go unnoticed was the pearl Calvin Klein gown worn by Lupita Nyong’o at this year’s Academy awards. The long-sleeved wedding gown: This trend dates way back, but has certainly taken Hollywood by storm, most recently shown off by Nicky Hilton. A classic style worn by the likes of Grace Kelly and Princess Diana, Kate Middleton donned this look at her royal wedding, as well as Lauren Bush Lauren, Kim Kardashian, Camilla Alves, Beatrice Borromeo, and Princess Sofia Hellovist.
The emerald engagement ring: The sapphire had its moment when Kate Middleton slipped on Princess Diana’s ring. However, now is emerald’s moment—and it’s about to have a big one. Top jewelers are channeling Jackie Kennedy’s famous ring in all cuts and sizes, from Harry Winston and Van Cleef & Arpels, to Cartier and Kwait. In addition to style icon Jackie O, Halle Berry, Zoe Saldana, Olivia Wilde, and Victoria Beckham (one of her many engagement rings) have been gifted this engagement ring.
