Your big day needs to be perfect. Weddings take a lot of thought and planning and getting the day right will be all you will be able to think about for many months on the run up to your wedding. But how can you ensure your wedding runs as smoothly as possible? In this article, we’ll share some great tips for making sure your wedding matches up to your dreams and expectations. Make Sure There Are No Wedding Day Clashes
Make sure and check the calendar before you book your wedding date. The last thing that you would want is for there to be a major event on the same day which will detract from your ceremony. For example, if you marry on the same day as a major sporting event, you may lose some of your guests and the day won’t be entirely about your wedding any more. Book The Venue Before Anything Else Make sure that you have your wedding venue booked before you do anything else. Don’t even think about paying for anything else until you know exactly where and when you’ll be getting married. Prepare Yourself For Rejection Around ten to twenty per cent of your guests will be no-shows. Most will tell you via RSVP, however, you should prepare yourself for the rejection. Some people will have clashes over the date, while others may not be able to travel the distance assuming you have some out of town guests. Invite Your Guests Early There is nothing worse than your grand entrance being ruined by guests arriving late to your wedding. Instead of inviting them to arrive at the time that the wedding ceremony actually starts, you should make the invites for fifteen or even thirty minutes earlier. That way, everyone can get in their seats and get comfortable before the wedding starts. Ask Your Vendors For Recommendations If you already have a few vendors in place but are looking for more, then you may want to consider asking your existing vendors for advice about who else you can ask. The wedding industry is a close-knit community and your vendor will have worked with other suppliers frequently and will know who to turn to. Have Table Ordering In Your Reception When you’re at a wedding, you want to spend your time relaxing and socializing with the other guests. In fact, all of the guests will want to do the same. Nobody wants to waste the entire day queuing at the bar for a drink. One way of avoiding this problem is by using a bottle service management app. That way, your guests will be able to order drinks from their table without any stress. Know What Time Sunset Is On Your Wedding Day Knowing what time the sun will set will mean that you will be able to get the most beautiful photos. Speak to your photographer and make sure that they are booked in for the whole day. It may cost you more, but the shots that you get at the end of the day will be some of the most gorgeous you’re likely to get. Need To Save Money? Do you need to save some money? One of the best ways that you can do this is my thinning out the guest list. Removing a table of ten people could save you a considerable amount from the food and drink bill. Don’t Forget To Feed Your Vendors If you have wedding vendors such as your photographer or band that are there for the duration of your reception, you should provide them with food and drink too. Don’t forget to budget for them. You may wish to budget a cheaper meal for your vendors. Speak with your caterers and see what they have on offer. Make Sure Your Budget Has Wiggle Room Your wedding day needs to have enough room in the budget for when things go wrong. Having a contingency fund will mean that you will still have some money spare to get anything that you may have forgotten about. When you set your budget, make sure that there is some spare money that is not accounted for. Bring Flat Shoes When it comes to weddings, there is no denying that they can be very long. For this reason, you should make sure that you bring some flat shoes to change into. That way you can put them on and still be able to dance when you’re too tired of wearing your heels. Practice Tying The Tie If the groom is wearing a tie using an unfamiliar knot, it’s always worth practising before the big day. The last thing that you’ll want is to waste half the morning trying to get the knot looking perfect. Give Accurate Driving Instructions It’s important to know exactly where the wedding is, particularly if the wedding is either not local or your guests are from out of town. Give accurate instructions on how to find the venue. Get Photos From Your Guests While you may have a great photographer taking lots of pictures of the big day, you may want to get some more candid shots of your guests enjoying their day. There are two ways that you could go about getting these. One option would be to place disposable cameras on the tables for the guests to use, another would be to have people share their photos from the wedding on Instagram using a special wedding day hashtag that you’ll create. Go Unplugged Alternatively, you may wish for your guests to not use their phones to take photos throughout the wedding. If you believe that using phones will detract away from the ceremony, then you could ask for an unplugged wedding. That way you can avoid any pictures of guests on their phones from the photographer. Make sure that you communicate this with your guests in your invite and also by putting up signs and announcing it on the day.
