How To Plan A Wedding You'll Love

When it comes to your wedding, you might be tempted to make sure that you invite that great aunt that you’ve never met, or only stick with meat dishes even though you’ve been vegan for years. Also though your day will no doubt be lovely, you are going to have a few small regrets and look back and wonder if it could have been better. If it could have been more you. But when it comes to planning a simple wedding that includes all the wedding trends that you love, and is true to you - here are a few ideas.

Invite people you genuinely love. One of the worst thing about weddings is that you are, most of the time, expected to invite people that you don’t like, or that you don’t speak to. You could do this one of two ways. You could pick a venue then expand the guest list to fit or, write you guestlist, then be ruthless and real. Cross people off. Think of it this way, every person on that list is going to cost you money, make sure that they are the type of people you wouldn’t ever mind paying for. And while you might be obliged to invite your sisters newest beau, try to make that the exception and not the rule.

There are some traditional flowers, and while beautiful they aren’t to everyone's taste. Once you have a set month for your wedding, you will be able to research what flowers are in season. This usually makes them easier to source and cheaper too. You could go even more minimal and create your own simple handheld bouquet with wildflowers and a youtube tutorial. Pick scents and colors that you love.

If you can, check online for all the dates for the wedding dress sales. Buy something off the rack and on sale saving double the money. Or, remember that you don’t have to wear a wedding dress at all. If you have a dress or suit in mind for the big day, go with what you love, not with what you might be expected by others to wear.

Where possible rent instead of buy. When it comes to things like the suits, tablecloths, even vases, and decoration - find a company that you can rent from. Unless you love the idea of having to sell everything after the wedding when you thought the stress was over.

Ask for help from the people who know you best. If you have a group of friends or some members of your family who will always have your best interests at heart and will protect you and your ideas to help you craft the most perfect day - use their help!

Always remember that this day is a celebration of the love you and your partner have for one another, and in the end, the wishes that really need to be adhered to - are yours and yours alone.

Good luck in planning one of the most romantic days of your life!
