If you’re planning your wedding, it can be an exciting yet daunting task. There are so many things to consider including venue, honeymoon and tons of smaller details that it can often cause a lot of stress in the early planning stages. It’s not just the big stuff that has to be considered either, you have to organize your wedding party and guests to ensure you have a fantastic celebration.

So when it comes down to planning your big say, where do you start? The organization of such a big event can feel like a huge task, but if you stick to some guidelines throughout the process, everything will be smooth sailing.

Check out these top tips to plan a fantastic wedding to share with family and friends.
Get organized before you start your official planning, it’s best to get everything organized. You need to write up a plan of attack and try to stick to it for the best results. You’ll have lots of ideas in your mind so it’s best to get them down on paper so you can make sense of everything. There are tons of cute wedding planners and stationery you can purchase to keep a note of everything. This organizer will be your bible in the run up to your wedding so make sure you follow every detail in here to monitor costs and timelines throughout the process.

Decide on your budget

Money is, of course, is the decider on whether you can have everything you want on your big day or potentially make plans for a compromise. That said, not all weddings need to cost a fortune, but there will be some significant outlays to consider. Budgeting is essential in planning your big day, and if you start running out of money because you haven’t factored in prices, it could cause lots of unnecessary stress. It’s also essential to set a realistic budget as if you don’t have the money straight away and are saving up, it’s best to have a figure in mind in case you don’t quite meet your savings target.

Research everything

During the wedding planning process, you’ll be bombarded with offers and incentives to pick a particular service. But be warned of the hidden extras and little clauses that could set you back a small fortune. During this process, you can never do too much research. By researching everything from wedding venues to caterers, you’ll be armed with the best prices and options for your big day.

Reserve your date

After your research, setting the date is the next priority. Some dates will be more popular than others, and most often some seasons such as summer will also cost more. If you have selected a venue, you may also have to be prepared to be flexible when choosing a date because they may not be able to accommodate your request. If you don’t want to budge on your selected wedding date, then you’ll have to consider a backup venue, so you’re not left disappointed.

Hire professionals

It can be tempting to cut corners especially if you have a tight budget but you have to consider the consequences should something go wrong. Imagine if the food was wrong, or your car didn’t turn up on time, all these things are essential for timings and making sure you don’t have any stress on your big day. Hiring professionals such as Go Luxe that not only cater to the bridal party but also can accommodate your guests in style ensures you and all your nearest and dearest have an amazing time for start to finish.

Start a guest list

One of the hardest jobs to do in wedding planning is picking your guest list. It can be challenging to narrow it down to ensure you have everyone you want there on your big day. Budget constraints can also have an effect on the list too, as you may not be able to accommodate everyone for the full day. The key is not to worry too much about the politics that come with weddings as it might cause stress. Most people will appreciate that weddings cost a significant amount of money, and will be happy to join you in the celebration in the evening.

By starting with these essential wedding planning elements, you will ensure everything runs smoothly on your big day. Of course, there may be hiccups along the way, but if you try to have a contingency plan too, you’ll be able to enjoy every second with your family and friends.

My cousin has been thinking about getting married in a couple of months, and he wants to reduce his stress by getting the planning done early. He would really like to get some help from a professional in order to get the right kind of help. I liked what you said about how he should set a budget that is realistic, as if he doesn't have the money right away, and can save up.

You made a good point when you explained that it is a good idea to hire professionals when you are planning a wedding. I would think that it would be important to find a reliable photographer as well. A reliable photographer will be able to capture all of the magical moments of a wedding.

I appreciate that this post shared that when looking to plan a wedding, it is important that we have the guest list prepared so that it will be easier for us to determine the number of pax that will be invited to the wedding. My sister shared that she is looking to plan her wedding. I will remind her to be mindful of her guest lists.
