We are all aware the wedding planning can be an expensive business. Not only are there hidden costs that you might not have thought about, but there’s also the fact that many venues will hike up their prices as soon as they know it’s a wedding you’re planning because of the assumption that couples will cough up. Whilst you are probably working through budgets and considering ways to make your wedding more economical, below are two things you might regret not budgeting for and it may be worth thinking twice about before you cut them. Wedding Photographer
Unless there’s been a dispute, or something has gone awry with the photographs, it is very unlikely anyone will regret hiring a wedding photographer versus those who will regret not hiring one. It may seem like an expense you don’t need – after all, every one of your guests will have a reasonable quality camera on their phone and can be instructed to snap and share every photo they take throughout the day with you. But there’s nothing quite like having a professional there who knows weddings – which points to capture, how to take flattering yet candid photos of guests, the moments that you will treasure forever between you and your future partner. If you feel uncomfortable about having your photograph taken, it may be worth considering an engagement shoot with your photographer prior to your wedding. This will give you a chance to practice wandering around with your partner whilst a relative stranger takes pictures of you, and you can have the opportunity to look at the way they work as well as your own posture in case there’s anything you want to change before the big day. The photographs are one of the only things you get to keep after the wedding – you will never regret having them and they will be priceless memories for generations to come in your family. Rings The rings are the other material item that you keep after the wedding and, unlike your dress or suit, will wear on a daily basis. Not only does it symbolise your promise and commitment, it is a beautiful reminder of your shared lives together and you might want to take some care over what you choose. If you don’t already have ideas about what you might like, do some research into your options. Have you considered a men’s tungsten wedding band – a beautiful metal which is increasing in popularity? You can also have rings designed which will fit round and compliment your engagement band, if you have one. The ring is something you will wear every day and one of the first things people are likely to ask about. Even if not expensive, if the rings are meaningful to you and your partner, they are worth investing in as they will last forever. You should never feel pressure to overspend on your wedding – after all, you are celebrating more than just one day. You are celebrating a lifetime’s commitment to one another, whether you are having a huge, lavish party or a small intimate affair. But having some memories you can keep forever to commemorate the day you said your vows is worth every penny.
