So much thought goes into creating the perfect wedding. There’s the dress to think about, the food, the decor, and the people you want to invite. But bringing the whole event together is a bit of an art form.

The good news is that there are dozens of themes to choose from that will inspire your guests and make it a day to remember.
Art-Deco

The art-deco movement began in the early twentieth century in places like New York and Chicago. It was supposed to be the height of opulence -and for its time, it was. Nothing before or since has been quite as evocative of luxury, style and sophistication. Art-deco was totally original.

If you want your wedding to have a Great Gatsby feel, then an art deco theme is ideal. You’ll need plenty of gold, sparkling props, and ornate designs to recreate that vintage, jazz look.

Seaside

When you think of weddings, the sea isn’t the first thing that springs to mind. But there’s something timeless about nautical themes. The primary colours here are blue and white, and you’ll want to add other sea-related accessories to wedding tables. Anchors, boats, shells, and even seaweed can all be used to execute the theme faithfully.

Make sure that the groomsmen are wearing matching attire. Navy blue or even white suits would match perfectly.

Vintage

The great thing about vintage weddings is that they can take on just about aspect of the past that they want. Thus, if there’s something in your past that you love, then nothing is stopping you from indulging yourself. It could be arriving at your wedding in a Volkswagen camper van, but it doesn’t have to be. You can be retro in all sorts of ways.

To achieve the vintage feel opt for slightly worn chairs, antiquate decor and a venue that has seen some wear and tear. Farmhouses, old churches, and slightly dilapidated country mansions are all ideal.

Suave

Sauve weddings are all about southern European sophistication: Italian ties, black tie, beautiful cars, white linen, and an abundance of flowers. The idea here is to be as sophisticated as possible, evoking the style of the great Italian artists of the Renaissance era. Pay particular attention to table laying, setting out each person’s place with care and attention. Women should wear elegant, designer-inspired dresses, and men should be suited and booted in black from head to toe.

Space

Many couples get together because they have star sign compatibility. So what better way to celebrate this than a space-themed wedding? Space-themed weddings are fantastic - so long as the best man can resist making Uranus jokes - because they open up a whole new world of colours and magic. Decorate the venue in fairy lights to recreate the night sky, put little celestial-themed placeholders for each person at the wedding breakfast, and decorate all your invites with stars and planets. If you were feeling adventurous, you could also include a homage to some of the great astronomers and astrophysicists that have impacted space throughout history, such as Galileo and Isaac Newton.
