Planning a wedding can be stressful and your to-do list can easily get out of hand. Naturally, everyone remembers the big things like flowers, venue, the dress, and the cake, but there are several little things that can slip your mind when trying to plan such a large, important event. Thank Your Wedding Party
One thing that is often forgotten or left to the last minute is thanking your wedding party! Of course, you initially sent out a bridesmaid and groomsman proposal when asking them to be in your wedding but don’t forget to thank them at the end as well. They have been your right-hand men and women throughout all of your planning the past few months and it’s courteous to thank them for making your big day happen with ease. You can thank them in so many ways – traditionally, modern, or creative. All that matters is that they know how much you appreciate them! A traditional way to thank them could be with cuff links or a necklace that they can wear on the wedding day. A modern way to thank them is with a new pair of sunglasses, which they can use all year round! As for a creative way to thank them, it is up to you and specific to your wedding party, so you’ll have to do some brainstorming, but a simple idea is a beverage tumbler! Plan For the Unexpected Everyone wants their big day to run smoothly and to be perfect, but if we’re being realistic, a few things may not go as planned! That’s okay though because you’re going to be prepared for the unexpected. Put your Best Man and Maid of Honor in charge of the emergency kit on your wedding day! You can stock it with everything from Advil and band aids to bobby pins and an extra tie. You never know what is going to happen so you should plan for everything to go wrong. It may seem pessimistic but the more prepared you are for the worst, the less stressed you will be! Reconfirm Everything It may seem tedious, but it doesn’t hurt to make a few phone calls to confirm vendor arrival times, schedules and flight information for the honeymoon, to name a few. Reconfirming everything on your list goes hand in hand with planning for the unexpected. It’s smart to stay on top of everything that you have going on – because it’s a lot! Make sure everything is going to arrive on time and to the right location about a week or two before the wedding to potentially prevent some of those unexpected problems you’ve planned for! By planning for all of these little details now, you are less likely to forget about them later on when things get really hectic. This can help to make your wedding day run as smoothly as you hoped it would!
