Taking her to the jewellery store of choice and tell her that you’d like an idea of what she would like for the future; the earlier you know, the longer you have to save, that kind of thing. She may choose a silicone wedding ring because it would mean more to her to know that you’ve saved your cash, or she could choose a platinum 3-carat affair with amazing clarity that she loves. You could pop the question right there and then; there is no way that she will expect you to propose in that moment in time.

What’s her favourite romcom? Most women love a good chick flick and the romcoms in the world often have over the top romantic proposal scenes. Sift through her collection and where your budget and your time allows, recreate the scene that’s her favourite. Get her friends involved if you must and make it a huge surprise!

As a complete contrast to the above point, you could go for complete simplicity and propose over a takeout Chinese meal on the couch. You don’t have to go all out, you can do the thing you love to do the most together: even if that’s snuggling down under a blanket to watch a movie. It’s a moment just between you, and she will never forget it.
